Mobile development

iOS and Android apps, cross-platform builds and progressive web apps, with the backend, push notifications and release pipeline to match.

What it is

Mobile development at Scaledex means the whole product, not just the app binary: the iOS and Android apps, the API and database behind them, push notifications, analytics, and the pipeline that takes a build from a pull request to TestFlight, Google Play and eventually your users’ phones.

We build native apps in Swift and Kotlin when a product depends on the device (cameras, sensors, background work, widgets), cross-platform apps with React Native or Flutter when one codebase is the right trade-off, and progressive web apps when a store listing would cost more than it earns. We have shipped question-and-answer apps, quiz and exam apps and a parcel-tracking app, and we maintain them after launch.

What you get

  • A platform recommendation based on your users and features, with the reasoning written down. Our post on mobile app or PWA explains how we decide.
  • A clickable prototype of the core flow before we commit to a full build.
  • The app, the backend and the admin tools it needs, all in your repositories.
  • Store listings, screenshots and the release process, including the back-and-forth of review.
  • Crash reporting and analytics wired to the questions the business actually has.
  • A maintenance plan for the operating-system updates that arrive every year.

How we work

We start by listing what the phone has to do that a website cannot. That list decides the platform. Then we prototype the two or three screens the product lives or dies on and put them in front of a handful of real users before writing production code, because a wrong flow is cheap to fix in a prototype and expensive to fix in a shipped app.

Builds go out at the end of every milestone through TestFlight and the Play Console internal track, so you are testing on your own phone within the first few weeks. The backend is built API-first, so a web client, a partner or a future native rewrite can use the same services.

Store submission is part of the scope, not an afterthought. We prepare the listing, handle review and stay on for the first releases after launch, which is when the real feedback arrives.

Who it is for

  • Startups whose product is the app, and who need it built by people who have shipped to both stores.
  • Companies with an existing web product that now needs a mobile client on the same backend.
  • Organisations that need a field or operations app for their own staff, where reliability and offline use matter more than polish.

If your product would be better served by a fast, installable website, we will say so and build that instead.

Process

How it runs

  1. Choose the platform

Native, cross-platform or PWA, decided on evidence about your users and features rather than habit.

  2. Prototype

A clickable prototype of the core flow, tested with a handful of real users before we build.

  3. Build and test

Milestone builds delivered through TestFlight and the Play Console internal track.

  4. Ship and iterate

Store submission, monitoring, and a cadence for updates after launch.
